Acupuncture & Integrative Health, London
We look beyond the symptom to understand the wider picture of your health.
Every person’s story is different. When we understand when symptoms started, what was happening beforehand and how they relate to each other, real patterns start to emerge — and so does a plan that actually fits you.
Looking beyond the symptom
Back pain, digestive problems, fatigue, headaches, poor sleep — it’s natural to focus on the part of the body where a problem shows up. But health problems rarely exist in isolation. Digestive function can influence energy and immunity. Stress can affect sleep, digestion, muscle tension and pain. Previous illness, medication, diet, nutritional status, environmental exposures and emotional events can all be part of the wider picture.
“Why has this problem developed in this particular person, and what factors may be maintaining it?”
That question — rather than “what treatment fits this symptom” — is where our approach starts.
Our approach
Four steps, in order — each one builds on what came before.
Listen to your story
Your consultation starts with listening: current symptoms, previous health problems, medical history, investigations, medications, diet and lifestyle. Just as importantly, we discuss when things changed — the sequence of events often holds the important connection.
Build your health timeline
We look for possible relationships between the start or worsening of symptoms and events such as:
- Illness, infection, or antibiotic and medication use
- Injury, prolonged stress, or an emotional event
- Dietary change, travel, or environmental exposure
- Hormonal changes or a major shift in lifestyle
The goal isn’t to assume one event caused the problem — it’s to identify patterns worth exploring.
Connect the pieces
Rather than treating every symptom independently, we consider how digestive function, immune function, nervous system regulation, musculoskeletal health, sleep, energy, hormonal balance, nutrition and stress may interact. Traditional Chinese Medicine adds a further lens for reading these relationships as patterns across the whole person.
Assess possible imbalances
Where appropriate, we complement the consultation with bioresonance assessment — exploring digestive and microbial balance, nutritional status, sensitivities, stress responses and organ patterns. This never replaces conventional diagnosis, blood tests or imaging; where those are needed, we’ll always say so.
Your personalised health plan
There’s no standard programme we give to everybody. Your plan is built from your history, symptoms, assessment findings, priorities and response to treatment — drawing on whichever of the following actually fit.
Acupuncture & Chinese medicine
Used to address pain, musculoskeletal problems, stress regulation and other functional patterns identified during assessment.
Bioresonance
Part of the assessment and complementary support programme, including portable home devices where appropriate.
Hands-on & technology-assisted
SCENAR therapy, low-level laser therapy, Tuina, Bio-Mat and other therapeutic technologies available at the clinic.
Nutrition & supplements
Diet changes or a targeted supplement programme, where appropriate, based on the overall assessment.
Lifestyle & environment
Sleep, activity, stress, hydration and diet — plus, where relevant, EMF exposure and time spent outdoors.
One person. One plan.
Two people can arrive with the same diagnosis and need very different approaches.
One person’s digestive symptoms may have appeared after an infection. Another’s may have followed repeated antibiotic use. For someone else, stress, diet, sleep and nervous system regulation may play the greater role.
This is why we don’t work from a predetermined protocol based on the name of a condition.
We treat the person, not simply the label.

Meet Michail Giovannopoulos
in complementary medicine
More than 25 years exploring a broader approach to health
My involvement with complementary medicine began in 1998 and has developed through years of clinical practice, study and continued exploration. My foundation is in Traditional Chinese Medicine and acupuncture, with a BSc (Hons) from the University of Westminster and membership of the British Acupuncture Council.
Why does this particular person have these particular symptoms at this particular time?
That question led me to study and incorporate Japanese acupuncture, Tuina, bioresonance, nutrition, psychology and a range of complementary therapeutic technologies. I don’t believe one technique has all the answers — my role is to listen, investigate patterns, make connections, and develop the most appropriate combination of support for the individual sitting in front of me.
“For the first time, someone looked at everything together instead of treating each symptom on its own — the consultation alone helped me understand what had been happening for years.”— Patient review, My Acupuncture

What is affecting you most, and what would you most like to improve?
Your history
When did it start, and what was happening around that time?
The wider picture
We look at other symptoms and systems that may initially appear unrelated.
Assessment
Traditional Chinese Medicine assessment and, where appropriate, complementary bioresonance assessment.
Your plan
We discuss our findings, priorities, and the most appropriate next steps.
You’ll leave with a clearer understanding of how the different pieces of your health fit together, and what we propose to do next.
Start with a conversation
Whether it’s a straightforward problem like back or neck pain, or a more complicated collection of symptoms you’ve lived with for some time — the starting point is the same. We listen first.
Our treatments and assessments are complementary and are not intended to replace appropriate medical diagnosis or treatment. Where necessary, patients are encouraged to consult their GP or relevant medical specialist.
